Hi Fam.

I'm Alex - welcome to my blog. 

I am in my third semester as a graduate student, and tomorrow begins my third week as a library assistant at a middle school in Duncan, South Carolina. Previously, I worked as a children's library assistant at my public library branch. Jumping from Mo Willems, diapers, and toddler storytimes, to Jenny Han, hormones, and being renamed "BRUH" has been a really fun adventure. I have sincerely loved every moment. The students keep me belly laughing all day long. 

I'm really looking forward to learning about some new resources that I can use to help my students and teachers. Anything that I can learn how to use in order to make life easier is a gamechanger. 

For the last 5 years, my favorite tech tool has been Canva. I use Canva on a weekly basis to create displays, presentations, bookmarks, and the occasional t-shirt. 

I'm one of those people who draws a blank when I'm asked to share something unique or special about myself; however, I can come up with an endless supply of dull facts. One dull fact about myself is that my spirit animal is the Pigeon by Mo Willems. I love that little guy. My favorite Mo Willems picture book is "The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog!" and it has inspired my favorite Blooket / Kahoot! username of "Hotdog".  Imagine the reaction of a student who gets beat in a game by "Hotdog". Ha!
